    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

    Hi. I am looking for a factory original 1965 GS 401 A/C fan shroud in EXCELLENT CONDITION. .Yeah-yeah I know there are repos. . but I would really like an original. Also need the radiator support "X" rods for the same car. I'm gathering these parts for my "sometime-in-the-far-future" 65 GS 4 speed Vert project. Thanks Guys! Wheelz, Tampa Bay :3gears:

    It took me 6 years to find the one I have in my car now. Found it on Ebay back in April.
    My orginal was in three pieces and I epoxied it back together and used it that way for years. It is actually very functional and doesn't look bad at all if you are interested in it. The joints are on the side and bottom, so you don't notice it immediately from the top.

  3. i can get the x bars from a 65 and a shroud as well but the shroud is from a full size.
    do you have the big radiator or the small one?
    i have a small shroud from a 65 as well but the bigger one would come from a wildcat if needed.
    and i can get the tops as well, radiator hold downs.
    let me know some measurments

    There are a ton of pictures of my '65 on my website: http://stonesautomotive.jxxtech.net and you can see some pictures of the fan shroud on there. There is only one that will work on the '65/'66 GS. Year One sells a reproduction one for them for $130, but it is a cheap repro. It isn't the same texture or color as the original, but is the correct shape and fits fine.
    The shroud from the regular skylarks is different and will not work--it is much deeper due to the smaller engine and won't even come close to working.
    If you don't see what you need on my website, let me know and I have some other pictures I can E-mail you..

    Actually, a shroud from a 300 can be modified to fit on a 401 GS!....you need to turn it upside down (so the offset is to the proper side), and then trim off about an inch from it's depth.....it actually looks pretty good!

    As for an original, maybe give Carmen a call????

    The X-braces are also used on AC equipped small-block Specials/Skylarks...

    Which 300V8 fan shroud do you use to modify?--the one for the downflow or the one for the crossflow radiator? They switched to the downflow mid-year '65 and the core support, fan shroud and all the brackets are completely different.
