Found some for $38 each!:eek2: Rare parts makes them. And NAPA sells them. Here's everything you want to know about control arms: http://www.leverfamilysite.com/GM_A_body.htm There's a link to the 64 bushing topic: http://www.leverfamilysite.com/1964_Rear_Upper_Diff_Bushings.htm Then a link to the bushings at NAPA: http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPag...Control+Arm+Bushing+-+Upper+-+Rear+Suspension I bet there's something else out there that will fit from another application, you just have to find it.
Joe, search the other A-body forums. These bushings were used in most 64's RealOldsPower board: http://72.22.90.30/phpBB2/index.php Pontiac: http://forums.performanceyears.com/forums/index.php Chevelle: http://www.chevelles.com/forums/ I can't surf as much as I used to....we got a 'talking to' about surfing during company time.:spank: Now when I get bored, I have to play Solitare or Freecell. I need a new job!
Joe, are you sure you have the original rear? Do the axle tubes flare out at the end like in my pic? You said you had a 2-something year, but I thought 65 GS's came with 3.36 minumum with the 4 speeds. Find the code stamped on the axle tube so we can ID that rear.
I will look for the codes. I did find them at PST but the wanted 50 a side. My local guy just called and said he might have it cause we ordered a few of them to try to match it up. I'm beginning to think the rear isn't correct. I will see if the tubes are stamped. Also if the seals I got from Jim at JD are the right ones. Stand by.:spank:
