65 Gs

Just found out today that there is a 65 GS about 10 minutes from my house! Its been sittin in a field for a while but the guys brother is gonna find out if he wants to get rid of it! Hopefully I'll get it for a song and dance!!!

Looks like they only made 4,285 4 speeds for '65! That would be a RARE find!!!

 

Hell ya!! buy it if you can. Is it repairable or are you looking at it for parts?

 

Haven't even seen it yet, the guys brother mentioned it to me, it might only be a parts car cuz it's been sittin outside for a while. I'm gonna try to get a hold of him today!

 

They would be some good parts to have if they are decent.

I called the guys brother and he said he hasn't got a hold of the owner yet! O well, another one is just gonna rot away! I did get a lead on a 64 Skylark ht though, it's in a hangar, not running. Should be looking at that car over the weekend. Here goes the whole process all over again!!! Takes years to find Granny's old car!!!

 

I have no problem buying cars from people. I'll give you some advice. When you go look @ these cars and deal with the owners have your shirt pocket filled with cash so they can see it. It could all be singles but it doesn't matter. And almost have one bill falling out. Their focal point will be that cash. Tell them that your on your way to pick up another car but figured you would stop there first. :dollar:

 

Sort of jokingly offer a $100. for the GS. They might take it!

 

Good advice guys!!! Also, if they don't give you a starting price, start real low like $10!!! They might think it's worth nothing and then give YOU a real low starting price!!!
