I am looking for front and rear bumpers for my 65 Skylark. I just went to get a quote on getting mine rechromed and they wanted $2200 (including my grill), way too steep for me. I live in CT if that makes any difference.

    Thanks...Joe

    Just a word of caution.

I wouldn't use them to rechrome my bumber bolts and many others have been burned by them too. Please do some research on any place you plan on spending any serious money.

There was a thread on here about a shop that would do any bumper for $250/ea and their work was very very good. Someone on here should have the name and address handy

Thanks Doug, I appreciate the heads up. I tried their website and it is not up.

There is a big swap meet in Springfield, MA next weekend, hopefully some good vendors are up there.

If anyone has the contact info for the place Doug mentioned please let me know, I cannot justify spending $900 to get my front bumper rechromed...Joe

    plating

I had a bumper straightened and plated for a '69 skylark several years ago by advanced plating in Nashville, TN. At the time it was $200, but they are probably still reasonable. They did an excellent job. I don't have a phone number. You could call information or look on Yahoo. Good Luck!

There is a place called "Tri-City Plating" in TN. Other a-body forums have recommended this place, and I've read nothing but good things about them.

On the other hand, I've never heard anything good about the Bumper Boyz - stay away.
