I'll get a call tag for UPS to pick up at location of your choosing, going to CA to check fit on car, then on to plating. Can you get me a few pictures of the core? Especially the center ridge area, the mounts on the back, any significant damage and if possible one straight on wide pic of the bumper sitting on flat surface nose up. Mull over how much you want for it too. Thanks. Elvin
Ok. I THOT I had a few pix but cant findum? ... the bumper is at my warehouse..I'll be there friday or saturday and snappa few then.
Decent. Straight. Flaky, scaly surface rust on inside. Looks solid. Small typical rip at center of bumper, no rips on corners. Not pretty, kinda uglee but I believe this would qualify as a candidate "for replate". Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hey Elvin....comparing my 65 front to Les's bumper, me thinx his appears nicer. Perhaps you should try ta reach out to him once more before making a decision. . just say'n. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Thanks for pulling it out and sending the pics. If easy, can you get one more of that center rip? The one here is pretty out of focus. I can wait a bit more for Les. Doesn't look like he's been on V8 for a few weeks so hopefully he'll circle back soon.
Elvin...surprises never cease to show up. As I was snapping better/closer pix of the center tear, I took a closer look at the BUICK sticker that has been stuck on the bumper for years...Peeled it off and voila, RUST THRU HOLE... arrrgghgh. ..thing is, this "sticker" may've caused the hole in the first place. . .anyway, its still a fairly solid bumper, no damage, never replated. . straight. SOME chrome shops know how to repair a hole like this successfully, however, should YOU still want it... $50. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hi Les, I pm'd you but couldn't attach photos. Here's a sketch and a couple pics of what I'm looking for re: measurements. Best, Elvin
Elvin, the picture that you sent does not look like the ones I posted. My is a front bumper off a 65 Skylark. If you would like some different pictures let me know. Thank you, Les
Hi Les, my drawing is a poor sample at best. I was only trying to illustrate where to take the measurements. It's supposed to look like a bumper that is set on the ground with the front facing the sky. I am 100% after a 65 Skylark bumper. I'd like a picture of the center ridge crack and one of the rear or inside of the bumper. Thanks again. Elvin
