my 65 conv. has a good size gap between the base of the wheel and the steering column. you can actually see the directional cancelling cam. it is spring loaded because if i push in on it the gap closes up. is there an adjustment that anyone knows of? thanks, paul c.

Just a guess but could you have too long of a bolt somewhere that is bottoming out and causing the shoulders on the bolt to hold the wheel too far up?

thanks for the reply. i don't think that is the case. it is spring loaded and can be pushed down to the propper height. i am not sure if there is a slip joint in the column or if there is a wrong sping in it. i will take it apart to look this winter. if i get a console and floor shifter i have a 64 gto column i would put in.
