    Calling all 65 Lark gurus:

I am taking all the front sheetmetal off my convt. for sandblasting/ engine detail before body/paint work.
Any tips, suggestions or typical promblems on fenders/ innerfender removal, radiator support or is it straight forward.
I do have my Buick Chassis service manual to help out with some pics. My car has A/C, but is removed already.

Any help from those who have gone before, would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks,

    Brad

Sandblasting carries with it a risk of warping the sheet metal.

those fenders are getting hard to find...

i agree.i used my trusty da & 80 grit to go down to bare metal, after chemically stripping the paint.its not as messy as i thought it would be & it actually didnt TOUCH the factory primer  i am also amazed at how well the purple 3m scuf pads work.if you dont want to go to bare metal, try them out :TU:

Brad if you have a digital camera take a lot of pic's. It's so easy to forget where and how it all goes back together properly. :Smarty:

I'm pulling mine this spring too for front end rebuild so please keep us posted. Enjoy!

Have you media blasted any sheetmetal, I have also looked into this. You are right about the sandblasting, need to be careful.

Only advice I can offer is, the wheel house and fender are a paint to bolt together. Get all the bolts started before you tighten any of the fender bolts. Especially the fender to wheel house bolts.

change the heater core while you are in there so you don't have to pull the fender again down the road!!!
