Can anyone explain the difference between the mid '60s road wheels(for, say a '65 wildcat) and the road wheels from '71-'72?
The bolt pattern and center hole appear the same, but I am told the "offset" is different?
What does that mean and will the 71-72 wheels fit the '65?
    Thanks!

I'm looking for a decent quality, affordable set of road wheels for a '65 Wildcat.

    Thanks!

The backspacing is different. More backspacing for hte 71 and up wheels. The pre 71 wheels had a bigger bump-out to clear the large 4-piston disc brake calipers.

I have a set of road wheels sans caps for 300.00 plus shipping. I am not sure if they are correct for your application.

    Jim,

What year will the wheels fit? What's the backspacing? Do you have the caps? Condition? Can you post pix? :Dou: Thanks.

Another way to tell the wheel diff, is the pre '71 wheels had the 'registration ring' welded to the backside. The earliest have a 2" hole with a 2 1/8" for '66-70-then back to a 2" hole with the diff offset for '71-it can get confusing!
