I pulled my carpet and found a small rust hole in my drivers side floorpan. I'm trying to track down the reason. I poured about a half gallon of water through the cowl on the drivers side....and nothing came out. After about 5 minutes it started to leak out of the kick panel inside the car and then 10 mins it slowly drained on the exterior but all of the water has not come out. The passenger side drained slowly from the back of the front fender, which is where I think it should.

I am assuming my drivers side is fully clogged with dirt and the passenger is partially. How do I clean that out?

The kick panels are out, the hood is off and pulling the cowl should not be difficult. So, I'm all ears.

    Thanks Rick

    Answer:

    -Pull the kick panels out
-Pull the vent door units out
-Shop vac out as much of the crap at the bottom of the opening as possible
-Feel around at the bottom of the cavity for a hole about the size of a water hose
-Dig as much of that dirt out as possible
-Turn the hose on and stick it in the hole at the bottom (I have the carpet out so be careful with yours)
-Watch the crap come out of the opening in front of the rear wheel well.
-You might want to stick your finger up in the exit hole the see whats jammed up in there. I had tons of dirt, insulation, bolts, washers, sticks, rocks, leaves, some type of plastic, etc. etc. The drains are open now!
