Anyone know what the correct color for 66-67 skylark/GS hood hinges and springs are suppost to be?And where to get them painted correctly?

    Thanks

Hinges should be gray phosphate. Cast iron paint looks pretty close. JW at trishield occasionally does phosphate plating runs.
Not sure about the springs. Might just be black oxide.

George the spring is the same as the hinge. Gray phosphate, that is what the NOS set I have on my 67 is. Thanks Bill.

Thank you for the info Walt, hey i got another question for you,do you know what size the heater control vacuum hoses/lines so i can purchase a roll off ebay?they list 5/32 and 7/32 but im not sure what these are?the local auto part stores in the area are ghetto and they dont know their ass from their elbow.

    Thanks

George, I just got my stuff back from Steve Gregori at www.detailplating.com
He does great work on phosphates and gold iridescent. He knows the correct finishes for GM parts. He also restores brake boosters. You might give him a holler. His turnaround is like 3 or 4 weeks. Dan

Excellent Dan i appreciate it dude,do i have to sandblast them before i send them over to him or does he do all that before he plates them?what does he charge for a set of hood hinges and springs?

    Thanks
    George

Hi George. He only requests that they be grease and oil free. He does the rest. The fewer pits, the better the result, as he doesn't fill them. I've had several boosters, master cylinder covers, hood latches, taillight housings and spare hold-downs done, and they were quite nice. I'm building another group to send him.... To be honest, I don't know if he does screws, nuts and bolts, but it wouldn't surprise me if he would, as long as they were separated into phosphate and zinc piles.
I don't have the price list with me, but he's good about answering emails. Tell him what you've got, and ask for his usual fees. He'll probably get back to you within a few hours. Dan

That's funny....when I spoke to him at length, before sending my Stage 1's booster, he said he had a guy blast his parts for him. I've sent everything to him right off the car, with some degreasing. I found the invoice for my last order: Booster rebuild and replate 180.
Hood hinges and spring phosphate 95.00.
taillight housings and 2 hood releases 80.00
