    Good Morning All,

I am looking for a set of NOS, if available, or like new hood hinge springs for the '67 GS400. The ones currently on it are weak and won't hold the hood up until the car warms up and then it is iffy. If anyone has a set or knows where I can obtain some it would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Johnny

I've never heard of this problem, it seems if they were cold they would have more tension than hot. Sometimes people put too much lube on the hinges, I've seen that a LOT! The hinges stick and then people lube them too much, they need some friction to work when they get older. Maybe you have the wrong springs on it, that's a big heavy hood.

It's possible that the wrong springs are on it. The '67 was bought in the past year from a couple that had it completely restored. It's very possible that the springs could be wrong or just wore out. We bought a set that was supposed to work, but they didn't. They were even weaker than the ones that came on it. That is why I am looking for NOS or like new springs to fix the issue. Don't want to buy another set for them to be almost worn out as well.

It would figure that my Uncle would own the two year models that require springs that are not compatible with any other car out there. Lol!
