I found this on Ground UP. It is for a Chevelle. It looks correct for 66/7 Skylark, the package shelf has the same holes. Not sure about the rest. Has anyone used this and replaced the total under panel between the trunk and back window on a 66/7 Skylark 2 door hardtop.

It kinda high cost, but If you needed it, $280.00

Wonder who I is made by?

Haven't used it, but I'd say it's different than Buick-Olds-Pontiac.
The repo panels between rear glass and trunk are either Chevelle-only, or B-O-P. I think there's a difference in length.
I have bought repo mesh package trays for a Chevelle that fit my GS, so the interior portion is similar, if not the same.

Tamraz has the Chevelle panel on ebay, shown as being made by AMD (AutoMetalDirect). But I don't see it on AMD's website, maybe it's new.

I spoke with AMD last week about their Package Tray for the Chevelle. They told me it will not fit the Skylark because the trunk opening is different between the two.

OPGI shows to now be carrying this panel now. They claim it fits the Skylark but they also say it fits the Chevelle so I have my doubts. I emailed them and the response I got was they believe it will work and their vendor says it will work. I requested a picture but they couldn't provide it. Said they would update their website soon with the product picture.

Walt and Johnny, thanks for the input. That is what I thought. The tray area and the back window channel maybe the same but the trunk channel and length and shape around the deck lint is different. That leads to another question the upper panel between the rear window and deck lid, are all the repro for Chevelle?

That outer panel is available as a repo for B-O-P. If it's listed for a GTO, it'll fit our Skylarks.
I did the replacement on my silver '66. Fits great.

OPGI appears to have the correct panel for the Skylark. And it is listed to only fit the BOP cars. There is a seperate part# for the Chevelle's. Here is a link to it on the OPGI site.

Looks like they are currently out of stock, but should come in end of next month. OPGI is kinda pricey on shipping due to the "oversize" charges, but if you have more than one oversize item, then you only get dinged once on the oversize charges.

I am waiting until they post a picture of the Package Tray piece before I order anything.

I asked AMD if they would be making it and they said it was not currently in the works, but it could possibly happen in the future as they are starting to get more inquiries for Buick parts.

So that's atleast 4 people I know of that have package tray issues. I know of Johnnys condtion. Walt and GS what was/is the condition of your package trays? Is it completely rotten? I have someone in Atlanta wanting me to take one out of my parts car if someone else doesn't want it or I need it. I know of sure my original parts car both the side corners are rotten. I don't know the rest. I'd have to crawl into the trunk to see. Walt do you have a link to the upper panel? Looks like all of us need that one as well. Why didn't GM add some type of drain system thru the trunk to drain the water away from the rear glass? I guess it's still like cars today. The engineers don't work on them so they don't care.

Walt, nice to know you can get the top panel. My top panel is not to bad, just some rust in the lower glass run. My under panel is bad, when you look up form under it has holes in the center. The problem is that the factory put a black pad between the two panels and it holds moister. The other problem is someone cut the package shelf for duel speakers. I do have good rear panel I cut off a car. It has a good package shelf and under panel. I am planning on removing the upper panel from this one by drilling the spot welds and saving the under panel. When I remove the upper panel to get to the under one to replace It would be nice to have a new top panel, it may be difficult to salvage mine and re-use, because even if it looks good when you get into the removal you always find more rust than you thought you had. Thanks Bill.
