66 dash removal

    if someone could explain correctly how to remove this it would be a big help, i dont want to break anything...

    If you mean the dash pad....first remove all the screws, then there is the tricky part. The 2 lower ends have pins that fit into an insert in the metal dash.... Don't just try to pry the pad off, but get under the dash, and look behind it. Use a screwdriver to gently open up the spring clip that the pin fits into, then gently pull the pad free of the clip. The pad should then swing upwards and come off easily.

    Notice the tab as to what the spring clips hold on both siides of the dash about an inch from the bottom. This is what Walt is talking about.

    If you have a Service Manual the procedure is covered in the Instruments section. If not I can scan some copies if you need them.
