I have made arrangements to have the fello shoot more detailed pix for me. He insists on pulling the parts.. insurance will not allow me in the yard... hmm. Explained that IF his junkyarddawgs break stuff removing the pieces, I will NOT BUY them... :spank:

We will soon see what the pix show. Stay tuned.

ANYONE ELSE NEED PARTS FROM THIS CAR?? SPEAK NOW!?

If it has a full factory cruise-control set up (from the servos on the block to dash plus wiring harnesses) you have my attention... My car doesn't have it, so I'd need the whole works. Right now all I've got is that stupid "speed-minder" which is worse than useless...

If it's a Q-Jet car I am interested in the manifold and carb.

    Thanks,

TODAY... the fello is out snapping more-bedder detailed pix and sending them to me.

    CLARIFICATION:
Dan (post #6) has expressed interest in trunk trim, radiator fan shroud and the carb IF it is a Qjet..?
Marc aka Electrafied (post #8) has interest in complete cruise system IF it has that option..?
Rhett, is IN LINE for the carb ..again, IF it is a QJ...?
I am trying to find out if it is indeed a 425 nailhead... IF it is, I may try to buy the motor/tranny...?
Someone else local to them, already has an interest in the grille and headlite besels & hood... & some interior stuffs.

The yard manager will send pix today with prices and I will post his replies immediately. They will begin the surgery process ie: pulling parts, as soon as I give them confirmation from YOU GUYS on these parts .. . :bglasses:

    STAY TUNED IN!

Just found this thread. I was just at this place a couple of hours ago getting some trim parts for my Gremlin. They did take me back in the yard because I didn't know what parts it had and the Electra was sitting right next to it. They told me it was a 67.

I didn't have anything with me to take pictures. I got my trim parts (that they removed) and then they took me back up front right away. I was in the yard for about 5 minutes. Didn't have anytime to really look at the Electra.

Minimum $25 charge for anything you get.

I can see why they don't want people in the yard. Cars and metal parts stacked all over the place and a foot of mud. I would call it the worst junkyard I've ever been in except for the few old cars they have.

WOW..thanx for the feedback, Dan! So,... allow me to ask YOU this.... did the "junkyarddawgmonkeywrenches" removing your parts use diligence and care when removing them? or did it seem like a "slam-bamm-unbolt-drop-important-parts'n-screws-and-get-you-out-the-door" type of arrangement? I am concerned that places like this ..the guys are working for the almighty beer at the end of the day and just dont giva-dern about respecting old car parts...

. . . .and I was told by some lady who answered the phone, 'they will charge me for removing the parts I ask for, EVEN IF I dont want them because they are damaged"...?

THAT is my concern... Your input on this?

What I got was a few interior trim parts and all he needed was a screwdriver. He did ask if I wanted the screws so he had some idea that it was imporant to keep this kind of stuff.

Easy bolt on parts I THINK they would be OK. I sure doubt that they could pull chrome without damaging it.

They drive around in these old 4 wheel drive suv's that they got running that are full of crap and thier tools.

Wish I could give you a better answer. :Do No:

    OK. here we go;

it is an 'MT code' 401... and not a 425
it is a CARTER AFB type carb and NOT a QJ. :ball:
it does NOT have cruise control. :boring:
it does have all the trim pieces DAN is looking for. :TU:
it does have decent core bumpers... :Smarty:
it does appear to have a decent fan shroud... altho NOT sure the ACTUAL condition.
it does appear to be pretty much complete and it sports some very decent usable parts... however, it appears only DAN will be the one to come out ahead concerning this yard find...

I am only trying to help save some parts for those in need. So tell me...DAN?..Do you want for me to continue my persuit and get prices on the trims and fan shroud?? REMEMBER, the prices he gives me, are what it takes to buy this stuff...I will still have to pick up the parts once they are removed, bring them home, package them up and ship them off...! :moonu:

Tell me..is there sincere interest enuf for me to chase these parts for you or what?

    ANYBODY ELSE???

The dashpad was perfect in it and they charged me $50. for it a couple of weeks ago or so. They let me pull it out 'cause i knew the yard guy would bust it up. The yard guy "stood over" me though as I worked on it. It has some good body parts on it and the keys to all the locks. The carb is a lowly Rochester 4 Jet for sure. Good for about 500cfm I believe. Also has the short shaft SP TH 400 for the nailhead.

Well, thanks for having a look for that cruise set up for me, - much appreciated.

That car has quite a few good parts on it still; - hopefully it goes to a good home and not crushed.

Anyone looking for a good Rochester 4-Jet should snag that one; it looks in pretty nice shape. Personally, I'll pass; the Quadrajet is a far better unit, and the Carter is a lot easier to work with.
