Looking for the R (Passenger) side stainless pinchweld molding for a '66 GS/Skylark in NICE to EXCELLENT condition. Prefer as dent free as possible and without any holes, etc drilled into it. I'll probably ask for a super detailed description and good pics as well so be patient.

Also used on '66 Cutlass and possibly other GM Abodies.

Would prefer just the one side but will also consider the pair (L & R)

    Thanks

It's just a shame you don't live in Florida because I have three (3) sets of them from 66 Skylark convertibles. I have had very bad luck shipping chrome this size in the past because the shipper always seems to destroy large thin parcels by stacking heavy items on top of them or bending them during the trip. If you are coming to Florida anytime soon you could come by and choose from the three sets that I have (sold only as a "pair") or you could have a friend stop by also. A lot of people visit Florida for the theme parks which are located within an hour of my place except for the newest one (Legoland) which is about an hour and a half away. Most people gawk at the price of shipping these days and something like pinchweld molding requires a huge package that must be made from scratch. Prices for my pinchweld pairs start at $100.00 for a set. Sometimes I see these on Ebay but lately OEM stuff for the '66 GS, Skylark and Special seems to be thinning out.

Alan - I've shipped these before (Fedex Ground....NOT UPS!!!) with no problem. Sure, I had to spend some time boxing and reinforcing/padding inside the box, but they arrived in great condition. Using some styrofoam blocks, etc glued inside the flat box where the long open spans are will prevent collapsing/flattening.

Again, it takes plenty of time to box them to prevent damage but I've done it on a lot of refinished and valuable parts over the years. I NEVER ship UPS...they hammer the boxes. Fedex...haven't had one problem. Fedex will also provide "FRAGILE" stickers you can plaster over the box as a warning.

Ask people who get my packages...they usually complain about trying to get them open:pp.

No plans to be in your area so that's not an option for me. If you have a real nice pair and can take the time to "overbox" the parts (I've made triangular/flat boxes for these before) we can discuss something to compensate for the effort.

John - NO...those are not the pieces. I need the long "L" shaped pinchweld stainless piece(s). They are approx. 2.75 - 3 feet long down each leg of the "L". Thanks for the pics and description anyway.

    STILL LOOKING

I'll pull all of the parts out tomorrow and will take photos of each then we will go from there. The styrofoam idea is something I did not think of.

Alan - PM me when you have pics. ALSO--if you have any body shops in your area stop by and ask if they have any boxes. Typically they have large flat type boxes + the added bonus, at least on higher end cars/parts, is the boxes are made of a double thick corrugated/cardboard material....very stiff and much stronger than the usual "single ply corrugated" boxes.

Thanks for taking a look, etc.

Just dug these out. I'll post close-ups of them once I label each piece so that you can select the ones that are the best for your application.
