Does sound a little high to me. The tranny problem along with an engine transplant may spell some second rate back yard work. I would think that a guy would want to pick this thing up at a price that would let you think about a major mechanical overhaul. I know where a pretty good 63 hard top and 63 vert are, pretty close to you too. Both projects and priced as such. I think they can be had for a pretty good price. When I figure out if I can afford one of them or not, I will post a lead to one or both of them on here!

Thanks for the info on the cars up your way. He's getting a new floor put in the hardtop right now, but he's going to up the price when he does get this done. The vert. didn't look too bad in the pictures, and he's got it indoors, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. I do know that I would have wanted a 1/4 from his donor car if I bought it. I'll put that one out of my mind. The one that you posted is a bit more than I want to spend for another car, and it's in California. I will be in North Idaho and N.W. Montana this spring or summer, so a car over that way works out better. I can pay the extra to drive the hemi truck over, rent a u-haul trailer for the trip back. Do you know anything about the 71 in Cheney? That's another one that I've been thinking about. It's cheap, sounds good, has no engine, easy to get parts for. I want one that I can build a silly big power engine for, maybe run the 1/4 mile with it. It's been for sale for quite a while, so I thought it may be around in two or three months when I can make it over. If I got the money together, I would think about trying to make something work sooner, but I know I wont make it back to visit the area any sooner.
