i have a 66 lesabre, with a 72' 455 stuffed in her. with the tranny pushed up against the floor board, the engine is as high as i can get her. my centerlink doesn't clear. anybody know of a good place to get one , besides PST.
only reason it has worked for the past few years is we hacked the center of the link and welded a curved piece in the middle. not safe i know, but functional.

If stock does not work how would you know what part number to ask for?

It may be stock now, but it has been modified. So technically, it isn't stock anymore.

I think the point is that that other than trying different ones to see what fits, you'll probably have to go with something modified as you did. You'll never be able to find a manufacturer who can tell you if their parts will fit in your modified car. There's really no way to tell other than trial and error.
