We made some progress today on the riv, put it up on the lift, man its ROCK solid not a hole in the floors or rockers to be found. The 430 was stuck tight but we filled the cylinders with trans fluid and pb blaster and suprisingly got it to move with the starter. Gonna try and get it to run tomorrow, for all you riv guys the headlight motor work perfectly and so does the power antenna. could only get the two rear pwr windows to work, ran out of time.I am gonna take some pics tomorrow. Didnt find any numbera on the motor yet but here's the trans #'s67t 397 BT 67 125030 Can anyone tell me where the codes are on the rear axle? Its not a posi Later chris

    The transmission is a 1967 ST 400, I guess that the engine is also a 67 430.

Yes, the '66 is more rounded at the top........'67 was the first year for the newer shaped bellhousing, it has a kind of V at the top. The axle code you need should be on the left side axle tube on the bottom side. My guess is if it's non-posi you have 3.07 gears. I think the marking for that is "PJ", and it's very hard to see. :bglasses:

So that Could be why they changed the trans along with the motor.
