howdy, folks me and my son bought a 66 riv on ebay for 600 bucks i thought it was a hoax, so before we paid the guy we went and checked it out and it was gorgous. needless to say i had it towed from canton back to columbus asap we redid all the brakes, exhaust, new tires, complete tune up and all its mechanically sound now but now i have some questions for you folks out there we need info on where to find fenders and a trunk lid ? any help would be great.

    hmm

Sheet Metal may be somewhat tuff to find for that car, I have a 67 that I am hopefuulyt selling to day, but 67 panels should interchage with 66 as well Try looking on the Boatload of Fun FOrum, THis is where all the Riv Guys hang out.

  3. Also check out Riviera Owners Association and their website:
www.rivowners.org - they put out a hardcopy bulletin / magazine the Riview ten times per year and have classified ads a go-go. Also they have links to LOTs of junkyard / aftermarket / NOS websites, esp those in drier, rust-free climes. Too bad you have to live in the rustbelt; sheetmetal will have to be imported.

Visit my site for a lot of Riv info. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jholthenrichs

And please join the Riv owners Assn. It is MANDATORY with these cars! Someone is always parting old Rivs. The "desert" junkyards usually have a lot of Riv metal, but they are very pricey.

Try Memory Lane in CA. There is info on them on my "Suppliers" page.

Welcome! Please ask questions. I'll help if I can.

Hi, the 2nd gen. Riv Is a beautiful car. As for the swapping of panels: I'm almost 100% sure the trunk will work (Let me know I need one too). Only the bumper and taillights were slightly different. As for the fenders, The "will" fit, but in '67 the lines on the fenders are slightly different near the bumper and I believe turn signals also. Good luck!:beer

  6. Turn signals, turn signal bezels and grill all different. Should be same hardware for hide-away light mechanism, other than visible grill work. Don't know about fender crease subtleties; would have to do a side-by-side comparison. Hood letters in 66 spell out R-I-V-I-E-R-A across the front (returned to this in 68 and 69), but in 67 they went to a small script badge on the front left part of the hood (prettier and cleaner). Should be same chrome pieces on car for most part, especially the rest of the hood, but there is a very slight difference in the fender well liner chrome pieces, though either year is interchangeable for fit. Hard to notice unless you're really looking for it. Steering wheel and seat patterns different, along with radio knobs though the fit is the same. Ditto for AC option hardware, which is important if you need parts or are going to install factory air as I did, in my case using a wrecked 66 as a donor for my 67 air delete. Electrical and vacuum lines were the same, though some color coding changed.:beer
