Wondering how to fix my grill on my 66 lark. it isn't broken or cracked it's just pitted and rough. WHAT is the fix for it. don't know what it's made out of either
It's made of pot metal, a zinc alloy. Difficult to repair. A chrome shop would strip it, then grind out or fill each and every pit.....and charge by the hour! It gets expensive! The '66 GS grille had the small bars painted black. Pitting there would be difficult to see. The wider top, bottom, and center horizonal bars, and and the vertical bar in the center were chrome.
