Since no-one answered my post about vacuum and wiring diagrams I have another question. I printed off a electrical diagram for a 65' model as a reference to go by. Is there much difference between these two in wiring? Also, it isn't noted on the diagram but I have a device attached to my firewall in the engine compartment that I am told is a resistor. What is this and what gets hooked up to it. All I have is two cut off wire leads attached to it. Any help will be great, the wiring is the only thing now holding me back from driving.

it might be the resistor that knocks the voltage down to 6 volts for your coil. if you had 12 volts runnin straight to coil all the time it will overheat and burn up.

if someone has put an HEI on your car, it would no longer be needed.

some cars had a resistor "wire" and some had a resistor.

65 and 67 diagrams will be extreemly similar for the ignition systems since the HEI didnt make the scene till 74.

There is not an HEI in the car. But there seems to be a pink wire according to the diagram I have that comes from the main bundle to the coil. It does not show anything from a resistor. What two wires go or come from the resistor?
