Hi Guys. I need to know the correct colors for a 67 GS grille, the silver & red. And the black on the trunklid moulding. Also the correct colors for the fender mouldings. There is a black and a gray paint on them. The black looks to be the same as the front signal lenses on their sides & top. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. o No:
I used argent silver for my grille and buick red for the red portions of the grille,as for the trunk molding i used a satin black, the fender vents are i guess a satin black with chrome, there is no silver paint on them. Thanks
If you go to the Ebay Parts & Cars Forum and click on thread Who Beat my Bid to Death there are a pair of NOS vents that have the gray or silver I am talking about.
If I get my digital camera to work with my computer I'll email a some pics. Also the silver argent was applied before the black. Thanks for the reply. Ray :TU:
worn off Most of these you see restored are done incorrectly without the argent silver - it wore off and was lost to history - it's nice to see NOS peices that can be used as a proper guide. The argent silver is correct for the grill and the satin black does a nice job to mimich the factory finish. I have not had to paint my red as I have several NOS peices - I have cleared over the original red though to protect it from chipping.
