I have 2 front and one rear bumper that needs to be done for a 67 GS. I have good cores. Any recomendations for the Northeast to get this work done at a reasonable cost??? Thanks Scott
I got a quote of over 1100.00 from pauls chrome in PA many people hear say stay away from bumper boys but i tell you i saw there bumpers in carlisle and they looked pretty damn good they were about 380.00 plus your bumper or a 150 core charge still half the price of pauls plus there shipping fee
bumpers Keystone automotivoe parts sent them very nice work around 350.00 a bumper I'm in upper penisule michigan and wisconsin Rick
Look into Tri-city Plating in Tn. They have a great reputation, good pricing and shipping is about 30-50 bucks each way. Many forums from Chrysler, Chevy, Oldsmobile and Buick recommend them. Keystone is also very good. I have heard to stay away from Nu-Chrome and don't even look at Bumper Boyz, you will regret it! You will have to trade your bumper for one off the rack and you never know what condition it was in prior to replating. If anything, do your research, call around, ask as many people as possible and try to look at a company's work first hand (friend's car, car show, etc.). Prep work is very important to how smooth the finished product will look. Don't fall for the cheap price, it usually ends in disaster. Look to spend $400-$500 per bumper and a turnaround time of 8-12 weeks. Good Luck,
I have had Keystone in MN do a few bumpers and they have been very nice. I think it is around 400 a bumper.
Tri City gets my vote. I have had 5 bumpers done by them. A very fussy person is happy with them......
Bumpers How about it the bumpers are not straight? Is making them straight included with rechrome price? Thanks:beer Scott
Keysotne will straighten them but make sure they are not rusty. They offer a lifetime warranty on their replate but and may reject a bumper because of it.
Desert Dog in IL had done 6 bumpers for me ..twisted rusted dented they all came back looking and fitting good for $329 a bumper
Desert Dog is doing my 66 Skylark rear bumper for $380.00 plus the $22.00 it took to ship it to them. Will advise what the finished product looks like when I get it.
I paid $360 for a Keystone replate on a 67 rear. It looks fantastic, one of the best I've seen. Took 6 weeks. I'd recommend Keystone to anyone.
My '64 has some surface rust where the plating has peeled off and some minor dings on the corners. What do I need to do to prep it before it's rechromed?
you need to let the rechromers deal with the prep---just discuss it with them ahead of time so you will know they are the kind of plater that does repairs in addition to replating.
