Anyone running 15x7 Buick rallye w/ 235x60x15 tires on their '67? I looked thru all the posts in "the hides" forum and didn't find an answer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Nick, my '66 had BFG T/A radial 235/60-15s on back using those Chevy rallyes, no problems with rubbing or anything. Not sure if that helps any. ( I have 205/14s now, becasue they were so worn the threads were showing)
I am running 15 X 7 on my 67 Convertible. I'm not sure of the tire size but I will check. No problem with the rears but the front tires rub on the wheel well trim if I turn too sharp. The wheels came off of a low mileage. 1976 Regal S/R
I'm just joining the thread because I am interested in a nice 15" wheel and tire combo as well. There seem to be tons like the one in this link... http://www.ebay.com/itm/15x7-15x8-P...Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d0c9955cb&vxp=mtr ... but I'm not seeing any combos with the Buick-style rally wheels. Dave
Dave, don't do it! I just went through that ordeal. I bought the same tire/wheel combo only in chrome just last month. They will NOT work on your car. I wound up selling the set at a slight loss. It's too bad, because they looked awesome on my car. Really ticked me off that the rears wouldn't work. Not unless you jack the car up to high heaven or trim the wheel opening lip. Neither is an option for me.
Good to know! I wasn't going to get those ones anyway. I just want a nice set of what look like original wheels that are 15" that will fit. I'll have to go with my 14"'s until I find something. Dave
When you find something that works really well put it up here. I will be looking for some wider rims and tires for the rear end. I will be doing some rear gears and may even consider narrowing the rear end. There does not seem to be much room at the fender for coming out with them. May trim the lip as much as possible. I am currently running the 14" with 225's on and from the back they look way too skinny.
All, I'm looking for a similar combo as well for 15" rally wheels. I was told in order to get at least a 245-15 on the rear the backspacing needs to be 5+. I'm looking to use them on my 67 340. I have a disc brake setup I want to install and want to keep the car original looking. Any help would be appreciated. Andy
Ryan just put a stock 15X7 ralley wheel with 255/60/15s on his factory 67 GS 400 with the orginal rearend. They would fit on one side but the other was to close as it could rub if you cornered to hard. If you have the factory rearend 235/60/15 should work and so should the 245/60/15. If you want 255 you will need 5 inch back spacing. ---------- Post added at 02:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:49 PM ---------- A disc brake set up will push your wheels out about a 1/2 inch side. I wish I would have go with the disc brake set up that doesnt move the wheels out and uses a C5 vette front hub.
