Well thanks to friends (Donny and Bruce) . I have news on the trans. Looks like the main input shaft,1st gear, and 1st gear counter shaft is Toast. So if anyone has any Borg Warner T 10 connections please holler. We also found the Rear diff yoke is leaking and the yoke it self has movement which is not good. That was done right after Martin last year so I have some homework to get done before Sept.. Any help, donations, money credit cards, labor would be accepted lolol ... I guess knowing how to drive this thing hard after all these years might be bad lolol... Any one want to hire me for drive train R/D I am sure I can excell at it if your looking for a weak spot ..

The picture is too big I can't see what failed.

One thing is for sure heavy stick cars cars break stuff.

I'm always inside mine.Over the winter I replaced my cluster and input shaft.I try to stay on top of that stuff. It's always cheaper that way

Good luck on getting it back together. That is a sweet ride you got there.Killer paint:3gears:

Sorry to hear about this Paul. I always told myself I'd do a manual someday but, yeah, big cars and sticks usually mean broken parts sooner rather than later.

Hope you get 'er back together soon!

Good to hear the trans is working out for you. Get that big rig rolling and lets see it make an entire weekend without any issues, while putting down some quick times.

Post that pic of Linda Vaughn and you with your car. I really liked that one. She really liked your car, too. Wasn't that at Woodward?

No problem Paul. Good to hear she is back rolling. Our mutual buddy keeps me pretty well updated.

Only favor I need is a ride in it with the new gear. Hey your new gear looks like childs play next to the 4.86 in the Boss. I decided after the Boss if a car is not turning 4000 by 50 mph it is a highway cruiser.

All joking aside I think you will enjoy the new gear and if you are traveling a bit around just take a little extra time. But when you want that snap it will be there.

    Enjoy.

8,000@ 100 MPH? Gawd......:eek2: My car with the 4.56 and G70 x 14, is at 3500 at 60 MPH. It used to go through the traps at 6200 in 4th at 103-104. Unfortunately it was all done at the 1000 foot mark, though, with that setup, and a sitting duck for higher HP cars (spelled big blocks).

The serious W31 race cars ran 5.00's in the 12 bolt Olds rear ends. They were available over the counter at the dealers. Then again, it was a bigger tire, though, (but a whole lot lighter).

No problem Mark you have a ticket for 1 thrill ride and if you wanna play with it take it for a test burn down the track at Stanton I am sure you can handle the mid 13`s lolol Mr 12 sec man .. I been playing on the street and it`s feels really nice drove the freeway last night for the first time with the new motor and trans and is is very diff then the old ones smooth and silky balancing and being new is a good thing lolol .. New 4:56 gear got put off until this week will update you when it is a go..

    Thanks

    Excellent Paul.

Dave not really 4000@50 mph but not far off. The traps at Martin were @ 7000 rpm and I was only going 107 +/-.
