Ok maybe I’ll buy the return hose, and make the pressure side. The stock rubber hose is still fine, the flared end that goes into the pump is the big issue.
John I had the same problem on my Riv and no matter how many times I cleaned and realigned the fittings and tightened them they still leaked. I was able to get both pressure and return lines from Rockauto for a fairly good price.
My hydraulic flare tool has been just about the best tool I have ever bought. There is rarely a week I dont use it......not cheap at close to 600, but in my shop it pays for it self over and over........I cant tell you how many hundreds of chevy trucks I have relined from front to back, so nice to buy a fee rolls and just knock it out. Most big box stores have some fuel line already flared on both end......just cut the one side off.....swap out nuts if need, bent to angle, the install a short half flare.......where you dont put enough tube through the block to make a full flare......just a little bump in the line to let the clamp catch........this was you know you have a solid good flare on a the import end........ If your pressure hose is out a harder metal a smaller hand flare unit might not have the muscle to do this........ I have issues with say stainless wanting to split on the flares
Good idea! I'm gonna pull my steering box and get a quick ratio 804 steering box from Tom T (teleriv) he gets them made for our big Rivs.
Ok I lied lol, I replace the metal fitting and one hose clamp and then finally took my dad for a ride for the first time in almost a year.
I think it’s time you start building a second motor so you can enjoy this one and go nuts on another one! ... or a second car?
Time to make another list: Fix— Driver side power front window Driver side door handle Maybe fuel lines to tank from pump Check out transmission mount Tune the carb to perfection, a little leaner in the winter to be prepared for warmer temps and thinner air Make sure turn signals are working Does anyone have a center link for sale or advice on steering?
Your car sounds really nice, looks like it's running good too. Glad you were able to work thru that push rod/adjustment job. It'll be much easier the next time you have to tackle it! I saw in a post and in the title of one of your vids that your at 450HP. What is your thinking or tally that adds up to that number? I know you have: Stage 1 Heads Shorty Headers 113 Cam B4B ReWorked Quadrajet... Just curious about how you got there.
I spoke to JW on the phone and with the ported Stage 1 heads, 113A cam, 830 Quadrajet, he believed that 450 would happen relatively easily
