Hi I was wondering if anyone out there has a posi center section for 342 gears i have ben looking for a long time with no luck any one with one ore help finding one would be greatly appreciated thankyou
Good luck. Years ago I found a 67 Riv GS in junkyard with no AC and factory 3.91 gears. Wish I had snagged the rear but it was a heavy beast of a rear. I was used to pulling Skylark rears.... Should have had the yard cut it out.....
You need a 9 3/8" 1967-70, Buick only, donor. A 9 3/4" is a Dana 60 Rear used in some mopar passenger cars.
Getting harder and harder to find but they turn up once in awhile. Sometimes for items like this you might have to buy a whole Riv GS parts car to get the differential. 66 9-3/8 carriers don't interchange with later years due to bearing size difference but the whole 66 Riv axle is a direct swap into 67 Riv. I just picked up a parts lot today from a 69 Riv GS and I might be selling the rear. It's the 3.42 posi, never been opened, stored indoors since car was parted out in '92. Car had 88,000 miles when parted out.
3.91 would be a awesome strip gear but hard to find I appreciate the replays it's to bad some of th those parts are getting hard to find I'm goi g to keep my eye out though thank you guys
