Do you really have to take off the fender to replace the heater core on a 67 skylark? Anybody got a work-around?

    Air or no air?
I can do a core without air without removing any body parts.
Never had one with air conditioning so no idea.
I do not think the inner fender will come out without taking the fender off with it WITHOUT causing damage to something.
I had to replace the fan motor on a 67 Skylark I had, I removed the fender and inner fender. Yes, it was a lot of work, I had a helper.

I just finished installing the heater box in my 67 during the week. I was able to get to all the nuts without removing the fender. I just left the cover and blower motor in place on the firewall. Its a tight squeeze to get that last nut between the fender and wheel well but it can be done without removing anything or drilling holes.
