So I went back to the local pick-n-pull yard which I mentioned here in a previous post, the one with the 67 Wildcat 4 door sedan. I got to spend some real quality time getting to know more about it, like just how much shade is under that big trunk when it is siesta time but there are no trees nearby to rest under. I could have taken a nap under it very easily if there was just a little less gravel on the ground.

It is too bad that nobody here contacted me regarding parts off it before I went because there could have been some real bargains for some of you. They decided to extend Saturday's half-price on every part sale for the ENTIRE WEEKEND. I only wish that my tool bag was better equipped and I had more time & money to spend there. I do plan on going back soon for a second helping of that Buick buffet, of course everything will now be at full menu price. Just about every single part request that you 67 'cat owners have recently posted over in the PARTS WANTED section was still on that car. The BT code SP400, a pair of big port heads, a 4 core radiator, straight bumpers, every bracket for the AC/PS & even the whole Smog set-up were all still on the car, plus this little surprise package that wound up following me home. :Brow:

    Yessir Mr. Devon.
I could have left the ring gear behind since there was no chance of getting the pinion gear off without some air tools even though we attempted just about every conceivable way and even tried a few new ones too.
The cashier was cool enough not to charge me extra for it. :bglasses:

What color was the interior? Was the steering wheel cracked?

Was that a 400 or 430 in there? I am looking for some 67 heads but they need to have the correct date code. Are you going back again?

    Fan shroud gone.

430 inch #1382985 heads. The engine may have been a replacement, I think that is a '68 casting number. There is also a "B 13" cast into each one. Is that a date code?

The car will be going to the crusher real soon, like by this weekend, so I will be there tomorrow saving what trim pieces I can from it. Let me know if those heads, manifolds, that trans, AC brackets, or anything else are wanted items and I will attempt to pull them too.

    Robert,
The 67 should have SP400 shortshaft in it....if it is still there, get it....good resell item...those SP400s are hard to find.

The easiest way to tell if they are 67 heads is they will not have the machined area for the heat rising to the air clean. The flat spot with the 2 tapped holes by the 2 above the two middle spark plugs. I hope I explained that correctly.

If they are 67 heads how much are they? I was looking for D-28 but those might work.

I can post a picture Friday of a 68 head if that would help.
    Thanks

I didn't think to check the price list. :Dou:
I am sure that the car will have been crushed by Friday so I will pull the heads, today, and stash them in a safer spot.
I will also get a price check on them.
Here's a photo of one for you..
