1968 1969 1970 1971 Skylark GS Deluxe seatbelts-- Very nice complete set of black original GM seatbelts-
    Original manufacturer: General Safety-Hammil

7 positions for a 2-door hardtop --2 front male-female positions with floor retractors, 2 front shoulder belts , 3 male-female positions for the rear seat, plus rubber floor boots.

Washed, polished-- everything works fine-- would rate these a 9 out 10 in appearance and patina

$450 plus shipping from CT 06410.

I have removed the dirty and mismatched date code tags.

Just trying to clarify.... what's the difference between standard vs. 'Delux(e)' vs. 'Custom'? Is 'Delux(e)' the same as 'Custom' trim option?

I thought 'Custom' interior seatbelts included color-matched belts and the satin chrome buckles. I thought that the black "camera case" textured buckles were the standard equipment?

Actually in my experiece in the northeast -- base model "standard" belts were the ones with plastic tops made by Robbins, Irving. Often found in Chevelles, Lemans, Buick Sepcial etc.
The nest step up were this style-- common on Buick A-bodies because they often had nicer trim packages (made by General Safety, Bay Trim and Hammil)
Somewhat more rare are the stainless steel tops with smaller front retractor buckles--also made by General Safety, Bay Trim and Hammil.

My ‘68 Buick GS does have plastic buckles but the deluxe belts for a ‘68 GS had the satin silver metal buckles as shown here in the brochure.

Buick stopped using the plastic buckles after ‘68 in the A-body. Pontiac and Chevrolet continued to use the cheap plastic style well into the ‘70s (our ‘69 Pontiac and our ‘70, ‘71, & ‘74 Chevrolets all have plastic).

Here are the deluxe belts in my friends unrestored’69 Buick GS.

The standard belts in our ‘70 GSX look like the belts you have for sale (black textured buckles).

The buckles in our ‘70 GS that has the optional deluxe belts are satin silver like the ‘69 except some of the buckles are the smaller size.

The same is true in our ‘72 Buicks. The three with standard belts has black textured, the two with deluxe have satin silver buckles.

Ultimately the buyer for your belts will know what they are looking for regardless of how these are labeled in the ad. Good belts are hard to find now.
