What followed me home from Cranston Rhode Island, 350 - 4V with turbo 350, buckets, console, A/C, tilt wheel, and cool fender skirts. The color is like a dark maroon, Paint code is listed as M 6. When looking at the Buick-net site the color M is listed as Burnished Saddle. I don't see the 6 listed anywhere, did I find another weird color car?
Those skirts make the 1/4 panel look a bit odd...I think the chrome would be strange looking without the skirts..Tha's a first for me to see one like that. Like the color though.
6 is Parchment vinyl top. http://www.atlantabuick.com/ab/inde...d=31&page=view&catid=217&PageNo=1&key=0&hit=1 Edit: How did George miss that one in his own backyard. p
Louie, Where was it listed for sale? Geeze, I am missing the boat... First a GSX 4 speed pops up IN MY TOWN and now a 68 3 towns away ou: ou: Good find!
in the Steven Dove book it shows M as Buckskin Metallic? I think the "6" would be a Parchment vinyl top? Sounds like a question for Mike T.!
Has it been repainted to somebody's preference? Original tranny in 68 is the ST300, th350 first showed up in 69. Gene
"M" is Burnished Saddle, are you sure it is not an "N"=Maroon (thats the color, I am not calling you a Moron) "6" is Parchment I don't have any production numbers for Skylarks o No: , only GS's... If the skirts were not on it would have the half wheel well trim that connects the side trim with the back, it would look weird without the skirts and wheel well trim. Neat lookin car :beer
I just noticed the chrome rim with the trim ring just like the set on my GS. Those are '68 only style rims and are kinda a mystery...Is that a Wilmington built car? What is the build date from the cowl tag if it is. Also, Wilmington built cars often have 1 or 2 build sheets in them, I found both of mine, one behind the passenger bucket seat back and the other in the rear seat springs. :beer
68 Buick Custom George, it was on www.Racingjunk.com Mike it is a Z code car, California to Mass----> Rhode Island and now NY Oh it has a wing on it.
In the last week or so, the following has been done to improve the Custom 350, the fenders, doors and hood were aligned to adjust the gaps and lines. The bumpers were removed and adjusted and replaced. The engine bay and undercarriage were detailed and painted. Exhaust was removed, straighten, adjusted and replaced. Just a few minor details to address in the interior and the trunk has to be detailed. Here are some pictures of the work so far.
Wing? Who would put a wing on that car? No offense but that is one of the most hideous things I have ever seen. i hope you are going to remove that aweful thing. Other than that it is a very nice looking car. Love that color. later. STeve p.s. ii have a trunk you can have for free if you will get rid of that aweful wing.
