Haha he guys. I'm 15 and my dad and I have looked for a GS to restore for the past like 3 years and we finally found one last summer. My dad insisted on getting a 1969 Buick GS 400 Stage 1 Convertible but that would've been hell to find so he gave in and we got a 68 Buick GS 350 Colorado. After a little more searching, wouldn't you know it? We found a "69 Buick GS 400 Engine & Transmission" (but it was really a 68 and I'm assuming the tranny is too). The best part? They were within an hour of each other in Colorado! So on the last day of school in my freshman year (like 7 months ago) we set off on our journey to go get everything. It was funny because my dad has a Chevy Colorado and we're going to Colorado to pick up a GS Colorado. His truck was LOADED after we put everything in because its not a full size truck but it pulled it fine because it's got a V8 . We're going to rebuild the Turbo 400 and 400 and put it in (but keep the 350 stuff for originality). Right now we're having the 400 sandblasted, machined, bored, and all that good stuff and then we're gonna replace the front end springs (for the heavier 400 over the 350) and we're in the process of finding parts for it like we need an interior, rear quarters (see picture), and a few other things but those were the main things. I'll keep posting along our progress and hopefully we can get some feedback (or even parts ray: ). Thanks ;-) --Pics The trashed interior More trashed interior Where the beast of an engine is going to go The original 350 and turbo 350 (#'s matching) The turbo 400 (and the engine is off to the shop at the moment) The rusted out wheel wells
Very awesome and unique car. :beers2: Isn't it great how well the sheet metal holds up on these cars? :error: The Colorado's a niche within a niche of the Buick Stepchild Nation. If you don't know what that is, just do a site search. :Smarty:
