I was going to try to go look at this this morning- need a good car for allt hat GS400 stuff I just pulled:beer
I did not get to go see the 68 GS, but I did see and buy "the parts car" Terrance is a straight up fella and it sounds like that GS would be a deal for $2800- I actually hope he does not have to sell it so he can finish it!
Here are some pics I took today of the "parts car" from Terrance's ad. I plan to pick it up on Friday, after one more inspection. I have visions of restoration / street / strip sleeper.
I am weekening and will be looking at the other car also tomorrow.....I Just Can't Resist.......:spank:
According to this vin decoder http://user.dtcc.edu/~rod/buick/buickvin.html that is not a real GS vin plate?
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the GS California's were built on Skylark chassis and body, so they'll have a Skylark VIN. o No:
Mark- Should have a Special Deluxe VIN. The California was an 'option' that was on the Special Deluxe line. The only- ONLY- sure fire way to prove a Cali GS is by a BUILDSHEET ONLY!!! Standby for links... http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=58879&highlight=Cali+GS http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=82026&highlight=Cali+GS
You bought that car as a parts car? It looks like an excellent car to fix up and drive--you west coast guys are so lucky! I know this may be wrong to ask, but how much does a "parts car" like this set you back. I'm sure the answer will make me sick! I'm going to Las Vegas in March and will probably go nuts over the quality of the cars that are in the junk yards out there. Thanks
Straight 6 engine- which was the base engine for those. PS: I missed what you were trying to say in that PM??? :beers2:
Interesting stuff guys about the GS California. I go look at 10:30 today and likely will be dropping the coin for it. I will keep us all posted.
I Like it !! Congrats ... though I've never seen a Y pipe installed like that before uzzled: o No: ou:
