I am in need of a 68 GS hood, my painter said after stripping it that some one had been jumping or hum*ing on it. I am in Florida, HOT SUMMER NIGHTS!!!!!!

The 68 GS hood is the same as a regular, has all the underside set up to attach the scoop and runners .
Look for a regular 68 hood and attach your parts

shaggyfinisher, Where in Alabama, and is it a GS or skylark hood, not that it really matters at this point. I was going to wait and go to Moultrie,Ga next week end if I couldn't find one.

Doesn't a non-GS 68 hood have a center chrome strip only, that must be removed, leaving holes?

Yes, a GS hood has two chrome strips that go up and meet the scoop.

Right, I had a 68 GS until a couple years ago. I've seen pics of a non-GS 68 hood, with the GS scoop and 2 wider spaced strips added later, without removing the center strip... didn't look good at all.

It shouldn't be a problem for a good body man to fill the center holes; you have to paint it anyway, right?
(I had to do that on my previous '68. The topside looked fine; underside was unfinished but a little more work and it would have been unnoticeable).
