I plan to badge my 68 with GS badges and my question is how different are the mounting holes/studs for the GS trunk trim as opposed to the skylark? I know the trim runs down the center and across under the key hole but is it easily swapped out? Maybe a couple new holes? I wish i would have thought of this before paint/body work was laid out last year but I didnt really think about it until recently. Although i did tack the side trim holes shut to eliminate that trim. Does 68 have a badge on the right side trunk also? Im not really going for full clone but want some subtle badging and may swap trunk trim. Thanks
68 GS does not have a long trim piece across the bottom edge under the lock. Only has the GS400 or GS350 emblem below it. Lid has 2 long strips vertically, spaced apart, and 2 short pieces above the trunk lined up with the long pieces. No badge to the far right side of the lid.
I thought it had two strips that ran down the trunk to a GS350/400 emblem "plate" that ran under the lock? I dont mean a long trim strip across the complete length of the trunk. I believe thats 69 no?
Correct, 2 long stainless trim pieces run down the lid and connect with the emblem below the lock. The emblem is just over 12" wide, so the trim is that far apart. I'm not sure exactly what is on the 69 GS cars, but full length trim left to right sounds familiar. I thought that's what you meant originally, sorry.
Gotcha, thanks. that sounds right. I was just going off of memory...which sometimes isn't the best hahaha
Parts Wanted section, Ebay searches. That's about it. I got a nice one last year, needs repaint only. But it's going on my car.
