I am again looking for the correct carb for my '68 GS400 with auto trans. There were two versions 7028242 (early) and 7028246 (late). I have been searching for a correct date code carb for a long time (one between Feb and April of 1968) but it has proven to be an impossible task to find one. At this point I just want the correct carb for my car regardless of the date code. I had a couple of later date codes that I ending up selling ou:ou:ou: Don't ask I believe the same carb was used on the '68 Sportwagon 400. Anyone have a clean, complete, undamaged, rebuild-able 7028246 carb they want to sell?
Mike, You wouldn't have a 68 Q Jet for a MT GS400? I know I have an auto transmission QJet on my car, not sure of the date code or even if it's a 42 or 46. I can check this weekend and let you know. Rob
Right now I have a 430 carb (7028240)on my GS (with a leaking gas inlet:eek2 so I can't help you out with the MT carb. That will be a tough one to find.
Yeah I know it's going to be a tough one to find, but thought I'd ask. You never know, could have killed 2 birds with one stone!
