I think they're called quarter extensions. On 68's they are one piece with the quarter panel so maybe they aren't called that. My 68 has rust on the points left and right of the trunk deck. Does anyone make a patch panel for this? I haven't found any if they do. Or maybe they're just cut off from original panels and patched in? The previous fix of pounding them in and then sculpting them out of bondo just isn't my cup of tea.
Thanks for any help. Dave S.

Most sheet metal for 68/69 cars is not available in repro. I'm sure you'll need to find a donor vehicle.

Yeah I was afraid of that. My 68 is pretty solid but I'm new to the Buick game. I stripped the whole car to bare metal and then found out the 68-69 parts are hard to come by. So anyone in the Ohio area with donor parts let me know. Thanks.
This board has been great for finding alot of info on my car. Dave S.

I don't have a pic handy but it's real easy. After digging out all the bondo it appears possibly they rusted and someone used a hammer to pound them below the body line so they could be recreated with paper mache.(at least that's what I call it) I'll find a pic real quick.

    68 rust

Okay I pulled a pic off google. I apologize in advance if it belongs to a member. I highlighted in red where the rust is on mine. Just the actual body line area is rusted so I suppose cutting back 4-6 inches from that would be great. It could even be cut back further away if it were easier and they could be recut to fit. Thanks Dave S.
