68 Riv. headlight problems, help!

    It's like everything else guys 'n gals, when it works it's great, when it doesn't work properly, it can be quite simple,
    or it can be a frustrating P.I.T.A ! :moonu:
    I don't know why they switched iether, but most of the cars of that era with hidden headlights had some sort of vacuum system, to operate the doors, or the headlights. Quieter - maybe, or was it cost or reliability related ? :Do No:

    Thanks for posting the reason Jason, no vacuum on one side is what led me to think the fender relay was not operating properly (nfg). They should have mounted that puppy out in the open for trouble shooting ease, but I guess the original very large 12V battery prevented that, and they tried to hide all those ugly rubber lines !
    I use a very light coating of wheel bearing grease on the thinly chrome plated steel shafts primarily to keep them from pitting or rusting - (stainless shafts would have stood up better !). I do use a silicone spray at all the pivot points for each of the headlight pods iether side of the grill. :beer :TU:
