    Hey,

Im planning to build a new exhaust system in 2,5 in stainless steel.

Now im thinking to plan also to build some headers in 1 7/8 (50 mm) also in stainless.

Does anybody build some headers himself? Is there some option to build long tube headers or only the shortys on the Riviera with the 430.

What you think should I plan to install H or X Pipe and is it also for performance or only sound?

Don't go nuts mulling over long or short tube headers as the tuned lenght in regards to a 5500 rpm max motor is not as critical as the ID of the tube diameter, nor is equal length tubes a big factior in this regard!
In fact there are dyno test that show that unequal tube lenght even in a high output motor make for a wider Torque band with no loss of HP.

The X crossover is the way to go.

The only way you'll get an X pipe on the Riv is to hang it under the trans below the frame and that will make for serious clearance issues.
