Looks like a deal to me. I wish I had play money! .........................http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ctd/2098435553.html Isn't that a '69 front end?
69 grill, neat car with alot of little problems. Looked at it for a buddy, but they were apart on cash. You can nit pick the car all day long. Body is a little rough, but it is a great runner with alot of bid dollar stuff on it. Basically an old street racer's car. If I had spare cash, it would be a fun Buick.
I see its not advertised as a stage 2 could it be a stage 1 with aluminum heads? I could not make out the exhaust configuration from the pics
I checked it out as well. Those are TA Stage 2 heads with an older SP1 on top. It ran pretty well. It's got a really big cam in it. One thing I was rather concerned about was even after it was warmed up, it was pushing close to 70 lbs of idle oil pressure, which leads me to wonder if it's got the hi pressure oil pump setup. Other than that, decent car with a lot of nice parts. Even has a fuel cell in the trunk.
Sounds like a race car but the price seems pretty good to me. I doubt you could buy a car like that and build it for even twice the price
He was very honest about it being just a skylark. You could not build this car for what he wants. Not alot of history on the motor, and alot of the information is third hand. It was at our drag day which I have on video running 12.0 on street tires spinning past the 60 foot mark. I guess he took it up anothe day and ran it with the slicks which come with it and looked brand new. My guess is our track booted him after that pass which has happened to me before too. He has had it since early spring.
