Okay, I'm replacing the duct, since the original one is all warped, cracked and otherwise shot. It's a Y-shaped piece, with the two vents coming out the dash top and the inlet sitting on top of the big air box near the front tip of the console. OK, so far, so good.

After much wiggling, swearing and a couple of beer breaks, I managed to wiggle the duct generally into place, between the wires, vacuum lines, etc. However, I can't manage to get the stupid thing to sit up on the top of the "box" since the crotch of the "Y" hits the center (welded-in) dash support.

    Help.

A couple of Saranac pale ales didn't help and me and old plastic parts really don't get along. So, any tips, suggestions or other ideas?

    Any help appreciated.
