Looks like it is in good repairable condition, the Buy It Now is not a bad price, compared to a REAL nice one. Depends on your ability to do your own repairs, or willingness to pay a few hundred more for someone else to repair it.
i wasnt real sure, but i know how guys are always saying the 69 grille is so hard to find. i noticed it had just been listed and since its buy it now, i better get the word out fast and let buyers decide for themselves. it does need some work, but its well under two grand. henry
alan the buy it now was only like $ 295.00 only $ 70.00 more than the starting price. if i wanted this, i would've hit buy it now. i think there is a good chance that it will go higher and the first bidder wont get it, or he will pay more than the bin price. i know i have had items end at more than twice my bin price. of course, it was good for me. henry
A good chance? My prediction = a minimum of $475 Someone should have jumped on the $295 buy it now, then like approx. $350 +/- depending on how bad it is to have Dave Tumas restore it and you're into it for about $700 and have one looking better than NOS. Not a bad deal.
$ 475.00 sounds right to me also, not that i know the 69's so well. someone should write the seller and see if he will cancel the bid, that would restore the bin option. sometimes people need to spend money to save money. his reluctance to hit bin will come back to bite him in the backside. i dont think it was wise to try to save $70.00 in this case. sometimes people are just too cheap for thier own good. seller will get a pleasant surprise in about six ? more days. henry
One thing I did not notice before however, is that there is quite a sizeable chunk missing off the lower right hand side. It would most likely need a doner "chunk" grafted in. Not a big deal, as there are enough 69 GS basket case grilles out there for donors. Certainly more than there are good ones. :ball:
the bidder is the guy selling the 68 lark grille on ebay. his 68 grille is at $ 355.00 already. i guess he hopes to get the 69 to make a profit, i dunno. he shoulda hit bin. henry
