Can someone can help me. Is the paint on the inside(next to the headlight) of a 69 GS silver or black. The ones on my car which I assume are original are black. However I see a lot of cars with silver. Skylark and GS different?
Supposed to be Argent silver, regardless of GS or not. Someone must painted the centers black on yours. Mark
Mark thanks. The car had some 70's things done to it when I bought it. White undercarriage,stripes on the front marker lights and a anti- theft gas spring. Maybe that was cool painting the bezels black also? Where do I get argent silver? Thanks Dave
Dave, I have used regular silver many times and it is close. Eastwood also sells some silver wheel paint that is a close match as well. There is a post on the board now with a PPG# for Argent silver if you have a spray gun. Mark
During the "gas crisis" in the 70 s stealing gas was popular. So there was a spring you could buy that twisted into your filler neck so a hose could not be inserted to steal your gas. Dave
eh it sounded better as i imagined it imagine a replacement for the spring on ur carbureator? solid metal piece that fits in just like the spring? Id like to see someone try to steal that car.. How can you if you cant move the gas pedal? lol not everyone carries an extra carb spring with them... but some have been known to carry a coil with them,.
