looks like a decent car..located in seattle area http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/car/740209606.html
this car sold on Ebay unless this is a scam http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...STRK:MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=330247173906&rd=1 Ken ps how you been Bob
the ebay pictures tell a tale not told in the craigslist ad. i'm guessing the buyer in the ebay auction backed out after seeing all the rust. just because the car is listed in seattle doesnt mean it is actually located there..it could be in the seattle area.. good job bringing that to my attention ken
Hey Bob thats what friends are for did you ever get those lower 1/4s that 65 i bought from you?? Ken did you see the latest pic's of here and my wagon
The car is south of Seattle, Bonney Lake area. It has been for sale off and on for at least a year, run on Ebay 3 or 4 times, last time no reserve with most likely a shill bidder bidding it up to $6,800. Last year, when he had it for sale at $9,999 I foolishly offered him $7,500 w/o seeing it, and he turned me down saying he had bought it for $10k, which doesn't surprise me. He is a Chevy guy, and couldn't understand why no one was buying. I have explained to him that at $7,500 you couldn't restore it (very nicely) and be into it for less than its market value, so it is a tough sell.
Not sure if this question was directed at me or not, but I DID NOT look at the car, the pictures told me enough that I didn't need to.
What exactly did you see in the pictures that was so scary I thought it looked fine to me please educate me on this Thanks Chris
Me neither, Couple of patches here and there but it looks really solid. We just got 125,000.00 for a 69 like that. The only thing missing is air and 4 speed.
Oh what I meant was around the quarter rear quarter panels they will need a little work. Those couple areas are bound to be a couple holes. Other then that it looks really good in the pictures. Randy
that car has at least twice as much rust as what is obvious in the pictures..I've seen that kind of rust to many times and it always turns out far worse once you start digging.
I was actually considering buying the car if I could get in contact with the seller. I must not have the vision for looking at these car when you say twice the rust where and what exactly are you talking about?
I have to agree. Anyone who has restoration experience knows there's no such thing as "a little rust". You'll most likely find the body mounts at the bottoms of the cowl, the rear mounts, braces rotted, etc. Rust is like an iceberg - what you see is just the tip.
Chris- PM cjp69. he is away at this time and should be back mid-week. He and I discussed the car- as we BOTH had interest in it. In the end, we both walked away. I recall the 'high' figure was $6500. I can't recall the EXACT rust issues besides the quarter rot...
I have to agree with them on this. Also if you look at the drivers side rear quarter right at the bottem of the quater panel, there is rust below the area not shown very well and that is a rust prown area that takes a lot of work to fix. In the area of 5000.00 would be more realistic. Randy
Thanks George for responding I'm looking at this car mainly because I want a nice driver not really worried about an having a supper nice show car. The figure $5k has been thrown around quite a bit but I don't think he'll sell it for that much he's obviously financially stable he's had this car forever and he just sold a camaro on ebay for $16k in June.
With it being convertible 455BB, buckets seats, shifter, and posi trac for $6500 do you guys know of a similar or better deal. Thanks Chris
just a side note the ebay bidder on this car is a local used car-boat dealer dont know if he backed down or was just a shill bidder but just a name to remember for what its worth
