http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...ndexURL=1&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting - What's the "delete CS Stripe" about. Nice bucket seat, consolete set up if your a column shift guy. Looks like someone slapped some Stage 1 valve cover decals on it, or...?
Someone's been messing around with that car, as it has SKYLARK style fake "gills" on the fenders... when it should have nothing there instead, for a 69 model GS. I don't see any rivets on the cowl tag either. uzzled: Or are my eyes deceiving me?
Also looks like an SCO car from the cowl tag. Can anyone interpret that tag? I don't know what the "delete cs stripe" means.
And the guys selling it are suspicious people, they are known around here, they own junk yards,i would definatly not trust them, they are the Sambucci bros. Thanks
The headlight surrounds are from a 68. Add in the Skylark fenders and I'm willing to bet the nose was replaced at some point. Accident maybe? o No:
Hey George, You betta be'a careful whatta you say abouta family wit da name of Sambucci. We gotta way o' dealin' wit guys lika you.. :blast:  Harvey
With that SCO code right where the paint code is supposed to go I bet it's got something to do with the exterior treatment. SCO code does add some interest to the car. Would have to go cheap with the other questionable issues though. The VIN rivets look just like mine so I think that's ok.
I agree that there are some things about this car that set off alarms. I have not checked today what the bid is currently at but the last time I checked it was around 5k which in my eyes would still be a decent buy if it isn't a bondo wagon and the floors are solid. Also he made it sound like it was the "in" thing to do when people put the Skylark fender fins on a GS. All I can say is that trend did not happen around here.:spank: I'm surprised that he didn't just say "Hey it's a GS just look at the emblems!"
I never heard of the skylark fins being the "in" thing either ever in my life,i bet he just made it up thinking he was just talking to some guy that just likes Muscle carsou:
I also got a chuckle about his comment to me to "just call the GS club of America, i'm sure they can verify it" ...... Skylark fins "IN"??? doh!! what was I thinkin?
I saw this car for sale about a month ago in a salvage auction ,car was listed as a Flood loss.It was what I would call a 20 footer straight body but thick paint and im sure lots of plastic ,rough interior and top and faded chrome . It did have a very nice grille .Car sold for $8500 or so and had a salvage title at the time.:jd:
Geez, I guess George was right. You'd never expect this sort of behavior from the "Sambucci Bros.":blast:
$8500 at a salvage auction as a flood damage car with a branded title, thick paint, ripped seats and the wrong fenders? Geez. Roll another one, dude. That seems like plenty of dough to me. Obviously the car was damaged and Skylark fenders were used because someone probably slapped it together and painted it shiny red. Not that there is anything wrong with that if you buy the car for less $$. I do have the mental picture of someone drilling and cutting on a nice GS fender putting the Skylark trim on it just to be "cool" though. One of my GS projects also has the rare SCO mismatched color flat Skylark hood in place of the ram air hood. It was a popular modification at the time. Just ask the GS club, they will tell you how rare it is.
Sambucci bros is a good place. I get parts there all the time. The car was obvioulsy rebuilt. If I had the cash I would buy the car.
