"Divorce forces sale" -Ive gotten some of my best deals from those words! poor guy. That looks like a real one. Its amazing how much cheaper the 68/69 H/O's sell for compared to a GSX. My best friend John had a 68 H/O at the same time I owned my GSX. I remember racing him all the time on Hempstead Turnpike and Deer Park Ave. When was the last time you saw that on a public street?
I would give my left!@# for a 69 H/O.That is probally my favorite muscle car of all time,yes....even over a GSX
Buicklawyer on this Board did have one he was thinking of selling. I am not sure whether he still has it.
Rusty can point out a few issues with the car, like wrong carb etc but very nice. Waiting to step into bidding if stays anywhere near where it is. The one we have for sale is a 68.
Anyone know of the 68 H/O 4 speed that was made for Demmer's son? does the car still exist? The rumor I heard years ago that the son still had it but was in rough condition.
I had 2 good races against a '69 H/O in my GSX on front street in Philly many years ago. To this day it was my most enjoyable street race. And yes, I won them both. :TU:
I know nothing about these cars. Very cool looking. I thought GM didn't allow anything larger than 400 cubes in the mid-size and smaller cars until 70. Is this car considered a full size car? Patrick
They got around the 400ci rule by Farming the car out to Hurst for the "OPTIONS" I guess you could say. Once the car got to Hurst it didn't fall under the GM mandate for the cubic inch rule.
Bummer it was there an hour ago, that thing looked Super nice. I bet he raises the reserve or he got an offer he couldn't refuse
Yeah those where the days Jason. My friend Charlie had a 69 H/O just like that one.I had a 68 GTO and we would race up and down Hempstead Turnpike also, usually against others. That was in 1974-75.I couldn't beat him, wish I knew more about Buicks then.We use to go to the city also,we'd line up right on the pkwy, hold up traffic while scores of people watched overhead on the bridge.Maybe one of the city guys remembers,I can't remember the name of the pkwy.It might be what is now Jackie Robinson parkway.Fun times.
It was removed now it is back: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...=4612456932&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1 It does look like a nice car!
My freind Nelson has a real 69H/O and it is a AC car. it is a super cool car and he gets offers from people wanting him to sell it everytime we go to shows. I think it is #708 and is Documented on the Hurst olds registry. Neat thing about them is the transmission number identifies what number it is. The last three numbers. I was lucky enough to have it in my garage for a while.
This is true. I did check myself. But they only have 500 of the 900+ VIN's from Demmer. It has all the earmarks of an original though. Correct trim code. Correct Cameo white paint code. The last 6 does fall in line with all the other recoreded VIN's
Jason, I'll give Nelson the message he will appreciate the compliment. I enjoy riding in the car it is a fun ride and gives you the real feel of having something different. I helped him rebuild the engine last winter pretty much to stock specs except for the w30 cam. He drives the heck out of it and he is not afraid to put the pedal to the floor. Its got the Buick torque not bad for a oatsmoblie :3gears: Jason the 67 is safe and out of the snow in its new building. Probally the first time its been garaged in a long time. take care
