This seems kind of ridiculous, but I cannot find an "I" for my hood. I looked all over the yard a few days ago found every letter but the darn I. Any chance that anyone has one they might be willing to part with? Thank you,

Dan, at first glance I did not see the letters in my garage. I don't think they sold last summer when I had them listed... I'll look around some more.
I have a set for a '68 (if they will fit) and if Alan doesn't come up with any. I had to buy a different hood after a wreck in '04. Some pitting, but I repainted the edges.
I will look this weekend and see if "I" have it. Now, who can answer if 68/69 hood & trunk letters are all the same ? o No:ou:
Yes. Maybe "repainted" isn't the right word, especially if they were never painted. I can't tell by looking at any of my 40+ year old samples. I sprayed them black and then cleaned the peaks and sides of the letters, leaving the face of the letter except for the peak and sides black. They look pretty cool that way. Strips right off, in any event. Are they supposed to be just all chrome? ---------- Post added at 06:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:34 PM ---------- The hood "I" has two points on it to align it to the hood. The trunk lid "I" has a straight bar on it to keep it aligned with the trunk lid. They are (well, ALL the front to back letters, for that matter) different.
Yep, they should be just chromed. Hey Dan, good news! I found my hood letters. If no one has sent you an "I" yet, I can put it in the mail on Monday, let me know.
