What rear should have come in a 69 350 4V Skylark? The one in this car seems to be a 12 bolt with a smooth cover. The only letter I could find on it was an "S" on the rear passenger side axle tube. The drive shaft also has a rubber sleeve on it near the yoke. These parts seem like Olds parts to me, what do you guys think?

im not sure on this, but i think there should be 2 letters.

you may have to wet the area to be able to see the other letter.

my code was PG (wildcat though), which was 3.07 open, as soon as i get home i can come back and check which codes have an S.

12 bolt smooth cover indicates '67-70 type "O" Olds 10 bolt. Will have bolt-in axles, usually sealed bearing style :af:
'70 versions had tapered bearing axles. I seldom build the type "O"s, usually have to start out life as an original 3.23, 3.42, or 3.91 Anti-Spin to make it on to my bench. High ratio peg leg versions are just too expensive to upgrade, & when upgraded, one still does not have a rear that is as strong as an 8.5 A-body.

    Got posi?

...so to answer your question. It should have come with an 8.2 10-bolt, but apparently it's been changed.

Not a POSI, I figured it to be an Olds diff. I didn't want to pull the cover until I was sure I could get a gasket. I'll post some pics of it later on this week, Thanks for all the replies! :beer
