I have a set of what I believe original 69 Stage 1 Emblems that looked to be possibly re-chromed/re-painted, possibly early take off's? I think they are re-painted but incorrectly.

I was going to list them here for sale but once I got to looking at them closely and started looking at others I noticed variations?

The ones pictured are the ones I was going to sell. If you notice the do have the part numbers in the backs of the emblems but notice the black painted areas. These have the black paint on the outside and inside of the chrome letters (which IMO looks cool) but on other reproductions it does not. I have also noted in many pics of 69 Stage cars that the stage emblems don't have any black paint on the emblem other that the red in the 1. The reproductions only have black in certain areas.

Which is correct, anyone have a original not all weathered and paint wore off?

See pics - Just want to be clear on what I am selling.

    Thanks

Terry, These are the NOS pair that will be going on my car. Front and back of the emblem. IMG_4683.jpeg I will add another picture of a NOS one next to a used original . IMG_4684.jpeg

Thanks Tony, never really paid that much attention to them that closely. The ones I have are definitely repainted originals.

    btw..Those are some nice emblems…:)

Terry- it's the font and weight of the emblems that are the difference between the factory and repro emblems. If they are the same weight and font as the originals...

Thanks only set I was lucky enough to see and buy. I gawked at your NOS rubber bumper for the hood latch. I never saw a NOS one of those, the used ones hardly look that shape but considering they are 56 year old rubber I guess we should be happy they even exist. Have you ever found the rubber bumpers that go on the front turn signal housings in the front bumper? I asked Cars last year and he had no Idea what I was speaking of.

Gary, Take a wild guess who I bought those from probably 10 years ago.

Tony - GM Part number for these are 1359491. They are used 2 places, on the park lamps and also at the fuel door on the rear bumper. I found almost every other rubber bumper for the car but those. Use CARS - LB635-3 (Need 4) closest to the originals.

    Terry,
Thanks! I have been looking at multiple sources for a while, but nothing really matched up. I will try those. The hood Latch bumper used I found ok Used ones, but I never found those in good used condition. Thanks again!

I don't know about the motor, supposedly rebuilt by previous owner, 30 years ago before he passed away, not run since. I'm going to go through it and the rest of the drive train. Car was sitting in the widows garage since then and just recently saw the light of day again.
