ok can someone post a pic of their 7.5 housing and cover. i have 1980 buick regal limited, was a turbo car but is now a sbc. im trying to figure out if i have a 8.5 or a 7.5 because id like to install a posi carrier with a set of 3.73 gears. any help would be awsome
The rear cover on the 7.5's is smaller, not as deep, & actually looks somewhat "squared off" in comparison to any of the different 8.5 covers. That said, I really hate ID'ing 10 bolt rearends, just by the cover shape, the 8.5 10 bolt itself was avail in several different center housing styles with at least 4 different rearend covers. The '84-87 8.5 G-body housing did have them.
